Employment Opportunities at Morton Transition Center
Community Based Learning
We have 30 employed students for the 2018-2019 school year. They work twice a week in Berwyn and Cicero under the supervision of a vocational teacher and a job coach. It helps create student responsibility, level of independence, and gives students an understanding of what life will be like when they leave the MTC.
Currently, our students are employed at:
-Town of Cicero
-Las Michoacanas
-Chick Fil A
-Mission Coffee House
-Striker Lanes
-Hawthorne Racecourse
Community based learning consists of three work levels
- On-site job training
- Subsidized community job training with supported job coaching
- Competitive employment with consultative school support
